Lamayuru to Darcha

One of the most famous trekking routes in Ladakh. One can experience real hard adventure of the Himalayas, which is famous for its beautiful Monastery and going through remote villages of Photosar and Lingshed.Then entering the Zanskar valley which has been able to keep its rich culture and tradition of Ladakh till date. Further it leads you to Darcha in Himachal via famous Phuktal Manastery and remote villages of Zanskar with amazing landscapes with so much of contrast.

Makha Valley Trek
Season: May-September
Grade: Moderate
Duration: 8-10 days
This trek is easily accessible from Leh and offers a large diversity of landscapes. Markha valley is surrounded by Kang Yatse (6400mtrs) from east and Zansker range from the south west. From any of the high points one can have breath taking views of Zansker range and Karakoram. In this trek you will come across many scattered high villages.Markha valley is a part of Hemis national park where there is always and opportunity of spotting wild animals.

Rumtse - Tsomoriri
Season: June - October
Grade: Medium strenuous.
Duration: 8 days
Rumtse is situated 70 kms east of Leh, the starting point of the trek. Rupshu valley lies sandwiched between Ladakh in the north, Tibet in the east and Zansker in the west. It is a part of the Changthang plateau and is characterized by high and plains, nomads, high pasturelands, snow-capped peaks and beautiful high altitude azure blue lakes, the largest being Tsoker and Tsomoriri lake at 4500mtr.

Padum to Lamayuru
Season: July to mid September.
Grade: Strenuous
Duration: 12-13 Days
To start from Padum to Lamayuru rather than going from Lamayuru to Padum is a better option for acclimatisation as you will be driving to Padum for two days via Kargil. On the way you will get to see the majestic and famous Nun and Kun peak,(7150mtrs and 7000mtrs respectively) which are known for expeditions. Driving further into the valley the beautiful Monastery of Rangdum waits for you. It is situated on hilltop and was founded in eighteenth century. After two hours drive you will see the beautiful Zansker valley and the famous Darang Durung glacier

Lamayuru - Chiling Trek
Season: September
Grade: Moderate
Duration: 5 days.
The valley of Sham, in the lower part of Ladakh, is celebrated for its beauty and richness during the harvesting season. According to legend, Lamayuru was once a lake, which miraculously disappeared by the hand of Lotsawa Naropa. The monastery at Lamayuru built in the 10th is one of the oldest in Ladakh, and belongs to the Kargyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism. This trek offers not only view of the many natural beauties of Ladakh, but also some of its most famous monasteries and the traditional life style of the natives.

Padum to Darcha
Season: July to mid September.
Grade: Moderate
Duration: 10 days
Padum to Darcha is another favourite choice of trekkers. It gives enough time to get acclimatise, as the initial days are easy and you will be going along the Tserab river almost at the same elevation. You will see lots of small and beautiful villages dotted along the Tsarab River. A visit to the beautiful cave Monastery of Phuktal is suggested as it shows you the architectural skill and the people's deep faith and devotion towards Buddhism.

Likhir to Khaltse
Season: June to September
Grade: Easy
Duration: 4-5 days.
This trek is one of the easiest treks in Ladakh .Suitable for those who have short stay in Ladakh and who want to experience a little part of ancient Ladakh's culture which still exist in the remote areas. During this trek one can see the beautiful Monasteries like Likhir, isolated Rizong and the sacred Avalokitshvara seated Monastery of Timisgang.

Spituk - Stok (Rumbak Valley)

This trek is part of Markha valley, famous for wild animals. This is the perfect trek if you are looking for a shorter option, beautiful view and moderate difficulty, and is definitely for those who have very short time in Ladakh yet they want to have the flavour of trekking in Ladakh.

Lamayuru - Alchi via Tarla
Season: June to October.
Grade: Moderate
Duration: 5 Days
It is a very interesting route to explore oldest Monasteries like Wanla,Mang gyu and Alchi dating back to the 11th century built by the great translator Lotsawa Rinchen Zangpo. This trek is unique in that it offers an opportunity to see not only the many natural beauties of Ladakh, but also some of its most famous Monasteries.

Hemis - Padum via Jumlang
Season: September
Grade: Moderate
Duration: 20 days (10 days trekking)
This itinerary is very less frequented/wild follows and we have to cross-river many times. The trek will be an ideal in September only when flow of water is low. Until Zangla during first seven days we will not see any single village.
