Day 01: Delhi - Arrival Bagdogra
Take flight / Train from Delhi to Bagdogra. Meet our representative and drive towards Darjeeling. On arrival transfer into hotel and acclimatisation, overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02: Darjeeling:
Early morning at about 4 am, drive to Tiger Hill to witness the beauty of the sun rise. On the way back visit Ghoom Samten, Chholing monastery & Darli monastery. After late breakfast, leave for a guided tour of Darjeeling town visiting the Mountaineering Institute, Zoo, Rope Ways, Tenzin Rock, Tibet Handicraft Centre and the Tea gardens. In the evening visit the Observatory Hill and the Mall. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Darjeeling / Gangtok (90 kms):
Morning leave by road for Gangtok. Check in at hotel. Afternoon city tour of Gangtok including visits to the Research Institute of Tibetology, Dodrul Chorten - one of the most important stupas in Sikkim, Sa-ngor Chos-Tsog Centre - a Tibetean refugee monastic institution, Directorate of Handicrafts & Handlooms, Tashi Viewpoint - offers a superb view of Kanchunjunga, Enchay monastery, Ganesh Tok & Hanuman Tok. Overnight hotel.
Day 04: Gangtok / Phodang / Gangtok (38 kms each way)
Morning leave for Phodang monastery, which is one of the six major monasteries in Sikkim & was rebuilt recently. Not far is the uniquely architectured Labrang monastery. Close by are the ruins of Tumlong, Sikkim's third capital. Return to Gangtok for overnight.
Day 5: Gangtok / Rumtek (24 kms)
Morning free in Gangtok. By noon leave by road for Rumtek, which is the seat of the Kagyu Order. The largest monastery in Sikkim, traditional in design, it is a close replica of the original in Tibet with beautiful murals & religious artefacts. The monastery has 200 centres around the world. A must for all visitors. Overnight in Rumtek.
Day 6: Rumtek / Kalimpong Late morning leave for Kalimpong. Aftenoon city tour including Dr. Graham's Home, started in 1900 by a Scotish missionary, Dr. John Anderson Graham, who along with his wife, dedicated their lives in building up this beautiful complex for the education & care of orphans & other deprived children. Continue visits of Thapa Choling monastery, Thongsa monastery and Durpin Dara which towers over Kalimpong & affords a breathtaking view of the plains rolling down to Siliguri. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7: Kalimpong / Bagdogra / Delhi Morning free time in Kalimpong. Early afternoon leave for Bagdogra airport, 80 kms away for flight to Delhi.
